Q: What is the Pennsylvania Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators  (PAMTE) and who are its members?

A: PAMTE is an affiliate of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE) and of the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics                 (PCTM). PAMTE and its members work together to promote and improve the education of pre-service and in-service teachers of mathematics across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Our members include teacher educators in Schools and Colleges of                 Education and Departments of Mathematics as well as others interested in     mathematics teacher education. We are currently looking to include in-           service teachers who host field students and student teachers of                       mathematics as they are a vital part of the teacher education process.

Q: What are the benefits of a membership to PAMTE?

A: One of the main benefits of being a member is the opportunity to               collaborate and network with a diverse group of members that include             teacher educators with a variety of professional affiliations, interests, and       expertise. The meetings of this organization are small and allow for plenty of conversation and networking.

Discussion groups are focused on important issues in mathematics                 teacher education directly related to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

You will also be included on a Listserve focusing directly on issues related to Pennsylvania.

Q: Do you have any organizational events throughout the year?

A: We currently conduct an annual symposium each year in the spring, and we have sessions at the annual PCTM conference.
